Well here is my first blog. I will be moving to Chicago in mid-August to continue my education in Photography. I will be attending Columbia College Chicago where I will get the experience and opportunity to take my photography somewhere. I feel like it is happening so fast now. I waited more than half the summer to find out if I had even been excepted and now I have to nail down a place to live. The days are creeping up on me, but I am very excited and anxious to get started! I will be there for a few days at the end of the month to look for jobs and apartments, and get to know the city again. Anyway can't wait and maybe I will post some shots after I get back.
Also totally stoaked on a recent contest I entered with Photographer's Forum Magazine. They notifyed me as a finalist and my macro photo of this peacock feather will be published in their December 2008 special edition issue. So not sure what place I got yet, but I am very pleased they will print my photo! The detail is pretty descent for ISO 3200. I had to flip my kit lens backwards to take this close of a shot since I don't have a macro lens anymore. And I love the lines and color this feather has in its abstract capture.
